Studying Double Bass
In my work as a professor at Mozarteum University Salzburg, encouraging group dynamics and personal independence (originality), flexibility and a sense of responsibility is extremely important to me.
The evolution in the orchestral landscape places high demands at a musical and a personal level, but also offers new perspectives. My goal is to train young musicians who are able to support themselves and to take their musical development into their own hands.
To my students I convey a secure technique, the means for producing a differentiated tone, a broad knowledge of the repertoire, stylistic awareness, versatility, analytical methods together with the ability to recognise physical and physiological connections.
My assistant Tomoko Tadokoro – Solo Bassist in the Philharmonic Orchestra Dortmund takes care for sight-reading and intensification of technical questions in relation to orchestra and solo repertoire.
